MY SEA-TEACHER EXPERIENCE

saya bisa

"Up in the clouds, on my way to unknown things"

My mind was riddled with doubts,

whispers of unworthiness,

Telling me I was not enough,

that others deserved success.

Representing Philippine Normal University VisayasFor SEA-Teacher Project's 7th batch,

I felt unsure and lost in the maze.

Unconfident, unprepared,

not competent to go abroad,
I thought I was not ready,

to face the world, my heart in fraud.

As the trip drew near,

I prayed for a sign,
To give me clarity,

to help me align.

The day of the journey,

the ticket in my hand,
A signal to my system,

that there was no turning back.
I prayed to God, "Why me? What do I lack?"

A month of experience,

a whirlwind of emotions,
Surprised to find that I had grown,

despite the doubts' commotions.

As I gazed out the airplane window,

staring into the blue,
I realized, I did it! And my heart sang,

"Thank you, God, for seeing me through!"

nothing beats day one

"Escape the ordinary"

A journey to a land of vibrant culture and diversity,

A trip to Indonesia, a nation of unparalleled beauty.

On the first day, we met our buddies, and laughs filled the air,

A day of bonding, a moment we'll always cherish and share.

Off we went to UPY campus, for an orientation so bright,

A new chapter in our lives, a journey that felt just right.

Lunch at Warong Pohon, a taste of Indonesian cuisine,

A culinary adventure, an experience that felt like a dream.

Days turned to weeks, and weeks turned to a month,

A journey of self-discovery, a time that we'll never shunt.

The people we met, the places we saw, the memories we made,

A journey that's etched in our hearts, a tale that'll never fade.

And now we're back, with stories to tell, and memories to keep,

A journey to Indonesia, an experience that runs deep.

For we've learned, we've grown, we've discovered a part of ourselves,

A journey that'll last forever, a story we'll always tell.

MY INDONESIAN FAMILY

" I thank you for being part of my journey"

As I reflect on my SEA Teacher journey, I can't help but feel grateful for the memories. And as I express my gratitude, I'd like to thank those who made it an unforgettable:

Firstly, to our buddies, Retno, Egi, Asa, and more, who treated us like sisters, and made us feel at home for sure. To Pak Muji, our driver, whose kindness knew no bounds, always sending us to school and picking us up, never letting us down.

Next, to the UPY academe members, Pak Rudha, Pak Joe, and Mr. Paiman, who always provided the things we need, and never left us hangin'. To the sales girls at Batik Wisnu, who worked hard to give us the right batik, and to the printing shop, whose friendly staff gave us discounts in a snap.

And of course, to the people who truly made a difference, my CTs, Mr. Hengky and Ms. Yulia, who guided me every step of the way, and to Ms. Bella, who inspired me to love the profession I take every day.
To my geekiest co-participants, Dani and Joyce, who always lent a helping hand, and to my students in II-Pascal, who made my internship very grand.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all, for making my SEA Teacher experience, an unforgettable. I'll cherish the memories, and keep them close to my heart, a journey that'll forever be a part of me, even when we're miles apart.
